A new compact grand, crafted in Japan

The new GCB is Yamaha's most compact GC Series grand and successor to the popular GB1K. Crafted at Yamaha's Kakegawa factory in Japan, the 5' GCB combines a space-conscious design with the responsive touch, tonal character, and craftsmanship associated with Yamaha grand pianos.

Designed for homes, teaching studios, and other spaces where a compact grand is the ideal fit, the GCB offers the sound and playing experience of a Yamaha acoustic grand in a smaller footprint.

Every GCB is crafted at Yamaha’s Kakegawa factory in Japan, the same facility responsible for Yamaha’s full range of grand pianos, including the flagship CFX concert grand.

More than a century of Yamaha piano-building experience comes together with modern manufacturing precision and skilled handwork throughout the building, regulation, voicing, and finishing process.

Rich resonance in a compact design
The GCB uses front duplex scaling and a tone collector to help develop harmonic richness and resonance beyond what its compact dimensions might suggest. Its structural design efficiently distributes string vibration throughout the instrument, while Yamaha’s carefully balanced action gives the player the control needed for everything from delicate passages to more powerful playing.
